“They’re afraid that the rest of the bridgehead on the right bank (of the Dnipro) will decrease (in size),” he said.

“We understand the logic here is iron-clad and straightforward: the smaller the bridgehead, the harder it is to hold. Everything is being squeezed. And the small territory, which is surrounded on three sides, is shot through. No army in the world can withstand this for a long time.”
Arestovych did not say what exactly is happening in the south, since Ukraine’s General Staff has not yet officially announced any details about the ongoing counter-offensive in the area.

Meanwhile, the adviser to the head of the President’s Office, Mykhailo Podolyak, said Russian dictator Vladimir Putin expects that Russian military will be fighting to the last for Kherson so that he can “save his face.”
“Putin expects that Russian military will be fighting to the last for Kherson so that the leader can ‘save its face,’” Podolyak tweeted on Oct. 15.
“But they are busy: dividing and taking away the loot, waiting for escape. When looting becomes part of the system, there is no room for discipline and fighting spirit.”
Earlier the head of Kherson regional military administration, Yaroslav Yanushevych, announced that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had liberated 75 settlements in Kherson Oblast since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
Natalia Humeniuk, spokeswoman for the Ukrainian military’s South Operational Command, said on Oct. 7 that the area of liberated territories in Kherson Oblast had increased to 500 square kilometers.
