The “Why Not You Foundation” led by Seahawks QB Russell Wilson and his wife, Grammy Award winning artist Ciara, has been busy this offseason.

From making content deals, to his “Wilson Celebrity Invitational.” The man’s been busy and taking advantage of a somewhat quiet offseason compared to a year ago.

Just recently the foundation, alongside Safeway Albertsons, announced the launch of “Immuno Heroes.” The goal of the campaign is to raise $3 million for Seattle Children's Hospitals immunotherapy program to provide treatment and groundbreaking research for children dealing with cancer.

“We are fortunate to have Seattle Children’s in our backyard leading the way in childhood cancer care and providing groundbreaking immunotherapy treatment to kids around the world," said Wilson. "Pediatric cancer research is underfunded by the federal government and this life-saving program needs our support. As captain of the Immuno Heroes, I want to call on everyone to support our team, be a hero and donate to Immuno Heroes to help make a very real impact in the lives of children with cancer.”

The month-long campaign commenced on July 1.

Raising money for cancer is a cause Wilson has long been behind and his efforts to continue the fight against it continue.

“We are excited to be a part of this important campaign and to help raise funds at our checkstands, but also to bring awareness of this breakthrough treatment for childhood cancer to millions of our customers,” said Brad Street, President of the Seattle Division of Safeway and Albertsons. “Our communities often rally around any child diagnosed with cancer. Our hope is that they also rally around raising funds for a treatment that has shown great promise for being the future of cancer treatment - a treatment that allows children to achieve remission without the devastating impacts of chemotherapy and radiation.”
