Rusk evens record by beating Carthage, 7-4; Brooks drives in winning run

Mar. 11—TATUM — Tanner Brooks stroked a two-run double in the fourth inning, which ended up being the game-winning hit, as Rusk collared Carthage's Bulldogs, 7-4, Saturday in Tatum.

The Eagles evened their record at 7-7-1 as a result of the victory.

Rusk led from start to finish and racked up 10 hits compared to Carthage's six.

Brooks went 2-4, with a double and an RBI while Alex Patterson collected two hits in three official trips to the plate and drove in a pair of runs.

Other leaders at the plate for the Eagles included Nash Ocker (double, 2 RBI) and Karson King (double).

Mason Trowbridge, the Eagle starter, pitched 6.1 innings and allowed three earned runs off of four hits. He fanned five and waked four and was the game's winning pitcher.

Tilton Beard came in out of the Eagle bullpen with one out in the sixth and held the Bulldogs scoreless.

Rusk is scheduled to visit Chapel Hill at 5 p.m. this evening.

At 7 p.m. Wednesday Lindale is scheduled to visit Rusk.
