- First and goal. Handoff here for the touchdown to Tommy Tremble.

JARED QUAY: Why, oh why did I take the over for "Thursday Night Football?" The Panthers and Texas did battle. OK, it was more like a backyard scuffle. And Carolina pulled off the W 24-9. But the biggest story of the night was Panthers star running back Christian McCaffrey leaving the game with a hamstring injury in the second quarter. So you're telling me not only did I lose a pile of money by taking the over, but now my fantasy team's shot to hell?

- No! God, please, no!

JARED QUAY: Luckily, DJ Moore and Sam Darnold came through in a big way.

- Third down and 9. Darnold, out to his right, finds Moore.

JARED QUAY: OK. Was there anything else entertaining from last night? Well, the Texans gave their rookie quarterback Davis Mills his first start ever. And we discovered he's actually part giraffe. Here's Texas head coach David Culley finding out that right before halftime.

Listen, we've been lucky with some prime time games to start the season so far. We had a bunch of nail biters. So we were due for a dud. I just want to know why I had to suffer so much. Why football gods? Why?

I get it. Houston is a city. They have a team. People want to watch them. Just not everybody.

Don't put them on prime time. I would've rather watched wrestling. I would've rather watched a rerun of "Wrestlemania 20." I don't know who was in that one, but I would've watched it.
