The Rush: Daniel Jones tackles himself in the Giants’ loss to the Eagles

The Eagles overcame an 11-point, 4th-quarter deficit to beat the Giants in a game that saw a rare “self tackle” from New York QB Daniel Jones, COVID has forced the Raiders and Buccaneers to walk the plank right off of Sunday Night Football, and the Ravens are making moves that could help them stop Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game.

JARED QUAY: Last night was crazy. Yeah, it was ugly, but at least the country now has the answers it needs to move forward. There's no more debating it. The Giants are the worst team in the NFC East.

And I know what you're thinking. Yo, Washington is real bad. Yeah, that may be true, but at least they could root for the fact that they don't have a racist name anymore.

- Yeah. No, no.

JARED QUAY: This Daniel Jones play is a microcosm of the entire game. Take them away, Deportes.

- [SPEAKING SPANISH]

YODA: How embarrassing.

JARED QUAY: The Giants were up by 11 points with five minutes left. And they thought, wait, are we allowed to win? Aren't we the Giants? So Philly made an improbable comeback to defeat them for the eighth straight time. At this point, it's kind of like a fact.

- Wentz throws. Pass is caught! Touchdown!

JARED QUAY: Listen, I'm a glass half-full type of guy. I'm going to look on the bright side.

- Let's hear it.

JARED QUAY: Even though the Giants and Eagles are trash, watching them play is much better than no football, right?

- I guess.

JARED QUAY: Be careful what you wish for because the Bucs-Raiders games just got yanked from Sunday Night Football.

- Those filthy pirates.

JARED QUAY: The Raiders are in danger of being unable to field enough offensive linemen to play on Sunday. Got too much rona to be playing prime time. A bunch of their big men are on the COVID list and quarantining after being deemed high risk contact. If all goes well, the O-line would be able to come out of quarantine Sunday morning and play Sunday afternoon.

But NBC ain't here to take chances. So we'll see Cardinals-Seahawks on Sunday night instead. I get it. Instead of seeing pirates versus pirates, we're going to see bird versus bird, which is also because they correlate. You know, pirates got birds.

In other bird news, the Ravens signed ghost of Cowboys past Dez Bryant to the practice squad and then traded for defensive Yannick Ngakoue.

- I'm sorry, come again?

JARED QUAY: The way Baltimore's moving going into their bye week lets me know that they really took that Pat Mahomes throwing for almost 400 yards personal. Yannick joins my brother and former teammate, Calais Campbell, as the starting defensive end for the Ravens.

See, I get it. These mega teams from the NBA are finding their way to the NFL. Think about it. If you ain't on the Chiefs, Ravens, Seahawks, or Buccaneers, you really should just be waiting until next year. It's a super team world, man. All the MVPs are joining one team.
