Reggie Gavin, better known as Symone the Ebony Enchantress, is currently a finalist on season 13 of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

The member of House of Avalon, a queer art collective, secured her spot in the top four by serving looks and Black excellence on the runway and in challenges. When Drag Race judge Michelle Visage asked Symone how she kept her skin so “shiny and delicious,” she revealed it was “just baby oil.” Flabbergasted at the simplicity, RuPaul simply joked, “I hate you.”

As we wait in anticipation to see which queen will be crowned this season’s winner, Symone dished on her post-drag skincare routine to In The Know.

Step 1: Cleanse with Neutrogena Cleansing Towelettes

She swept off any leftover dirt and makeup on her face with a Neutrogena Cleansing Towelette for a clean canvas.

Step 2: Eye cream with Sunday Riley Auto Correct

“There’s long nights and early mornings in this life,” Symone remarked.

She applied two to three pumps of the brightening and de-puffing cream onto her under-eye area.

Step 3: Exfoliate with Sunday Riley Good Genes

Symone called the lactic acid serum a “game changer” saying it made her skin tone even and brighter.

“Being on set of RuPaul’s Drag Race I learned a lot. We’re basically in makeup every day. So you had to take care of your skin,” Symone told In The Know. “Otherwise there is makeup in it.”

She added it was essential to restore moisture because just removing the makeup strips the skin.

“I learned a lot. Especially from the other girls who were doing it every day. Like the masks and you know little zit treatment things. I was like, ‘What’s that?’ It was a learning experience all around,” she said.

Step 4: Oil serum with Sunday Riley C.E.O Glow

Symone applied a few drops of the oil serum packed with vitamin C and turmeric onto her face, then pat it in.

“After the makeup is taken off I go much harder with the moisture because I feel like, I’m stripping my skin of everything so I try to put it all back into my face ’cause I love to look like I am glowing,” the queen said.

Step 5: Moisturize with Sunday Riley ICE Ceramide Moisturizing Cream

This is her second favorite product after Good Genes. She used a small spatula to grab a few dollops of the nourishing moisturizer and applied it onto her skin.

Another pro-tip Symone picked up from Angela Bassett is to drink water early and often.

“Her skin is unreal to me, whenever I’m her age I want to look like that,” Symone remarked. “Naomi Campbell too. Her skin looks gorgeous.”

Step 6: Johnson’s Baby Oil

Finally, it was time to add Symone’s signature glow with a few drops of baby oil. She called the product her “tried and true.”

She admitted she found this ideal regimen only a few weeks ago, despite her iconic skin the queen from Arkansas wasn’t always interested in skincare.

“I think the key to flawless skin is finding the products that work for you,” Symone said. “Because not everything works for everybody. Keeping up a routine, cause it is hard at first you know. The more I got into it and the more I did realize it is really important.”
