Rose-Hulman men edge Franklin 68-66 in regular-season finale

Feb. 16—Rose-Hulman got 21 points from junior Miles McGowen, who made 10 of 13 attempts from the field, as the Engineers edged Franklin 68-66 in Friday's regular-season finale for both Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball teams at Hulbert Arena.

Because of his 15 rebounds, McGowen posted a double-double in this Senior Night matchup for the Engineers. Senior Bradley Harden (13 points, including three 3-pointers) and freshman Jack Jenniges (11 points) added offensive firepower for the winners.

Jessie Morgan Jr. and Ryan Bostic tallied 20 and 16 points respectively to pace the Grizzlies.

Both squads finished the regular season at 12-13 overall and 10-8 in the HCAC.

Franklin will get the No. 5 seed and Rose No. 6 in the upcoming six-team HCAC tournament. That means coach Nick Sales' Engineers will visit third-seeded Hanover for a 4 p.m. matchup Sunday, with the winner advancing to the tourney semifinals later next week.

Anderson captured the HCAC regular-season title with a 16-2 league mark. The Ravens will host the semifinal and championship games of the tourney.
