Ronda Rousey has a new role.

“Moral Kombat 11” announced Rousey as Sonya Blade during its reveal Thursday on Twitter and Twitch.

“I’ve always kind of emulated her in my own way and now I get to try and be her,” Rousey said in the reveal video.

Sonya Blade debuted as one of seven original characters in 1992, but was a late addition to include a female character.

“When I was a little kid, there wasn’t many female role models in any kind of action, kickass space. I used to have to invent people in my head,” Ronda said in a release on her website. “But with Mortal Kombat, I didn’t have to make anyone up. There was Sonya Blade. She was the one who looked the most like me.”

Rousey only did voice work for the game and included one of her infamous catchphrases, per her site. She said months ago she wanted to play the character and received a “black envelope mysteriously sealed with wax” from NetherRealm Studios that started the production.

“I literally did everything that I could to grow up to be Sonya Blade. This is the closest that I could get to being Sonya Blade in real life,” she said. “If people did come to Earth and was like, ‘send us your best warriors,’ I would totally be one of those warriors. I am totally ready to defend Earthrealm. Finally, my chance has come.”

Blade has been voiced by Kerri Hoskins, Jennifer Hale, Olivia d’Abo, Beth Melewski, Dana Lyn Baron and Tricia Helfer.

“Mortal Kombat 11” is out April 23.
