Roff pitchers combine for no-hitter in opener

Feb. 29—ROFF — Two Roff pitchers combined for a no-hitter and the Tigers opened their 2024 spring baseball season with an 8-0 win over Mill Creek in a Tuesday night home game.

Coach Derek Collins' club is at Wright City Thursday and travels to Sulphur at noon Saturday.

Caden Graves struck out six and walked three in four innings for the Tigers and Gavin Wilson struck out the side in the top of the fifth inning.

Roff led just 2-0 after scoring single runs in the first and fourth innings but erupted for five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to end the game early.

Wilson also paced a nine-hit RHS offense, going 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. Graves also had two hits for the hosts.

Kaden Darnell finished 1-for-1 with two walks, a double and two runs scored for the Tigers and Jaxon Austin cracked a double and drove in two runs.

Hunter Hughes absorbed the mound loss for the Bullfrogs.
