Rockies move INF Rodgers to 60-day IL

The Colorado Rockies transferred rookie infielder Brendan Rodgers to the 60-day injured list on Wednesday following his surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

Rodgers, 22, batted .224 with seven RBIs in 25 games with the Rockies after making his major league debut on May 17. He was originally placed on the 10-day IL on June 27.

The 2015 first-round draft pick (third overall) started 13 games at second base and five games at shortstop.

Colorado also reinstated left-hander Harrison Musgrave from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Musgrave, 27, made 10 relief appearances with the Rockies earlier this season and posted a 3.60 ERA with 12 strikeouts and seven walks in 10 innings.
