Rocket Mortgage announces multi-year partnership with Detroit Tigers

Rocket Mortgage and the Detroit Tigers announced a multi-year partnership Tuesday that makes the loan provider the exclusive mortgage partner of the team. The company will also be the presenting sponsor of Opening Day at Comerica Park on April 8, according to a news release.

“As a company with deep Detroit roots, Rocket Mortgage is honored to partner with the Tigers, a team synonymous with the city we love. The Tigers’ rich heritage is a source of pride for Detroiters the world over, and we are excited to now be a small part of the ballclub’s legacy,” Casey Hurbis, chief marketing officer of Rocket Mortgage, said in the release.

Hubris said they want to use the partnership to "shine a spotlight" on Detroit and create a fun atmosphere at the games.

The partnership includes Rocket Mortgage branding throughout the park, including on foul poles and Gate B.

The company is working to end the digital divide in Detroit, and this partnership will help: Each time a Tigers player hits a home run off either “Rocket” foul pole, Rocket Mortgage will contribute $5,000 to the Connect 313 Fund, and if the home run results in a grand slam, the company will contribute $20,000.

Connect 313 is a city-wide effort to bring digital literacy to Detroiters and ensure all residents have equitable access to the internet and technology. The fund is a collaboration between City of Detroit, the Rocket Mortgage Classic golf tournament, Rocket Companies, Microsoft and the United Way of Southeastern Michigan.
