Rochester Raiders win scrimmage after earning forfeit victory in adaptive softball

Apr. 22—MINNEAPOLIS — The Rochester Raiders adaptive softball team earned a forfeit victory on Monday and then got a chance to play a scrimmage as well.

Minneapolis had to forfeit to the Raiders due to a lack of players. The teams then played a scrimmage and Raiders won 14-6 in six innings.

Sawyer Hanson went 3-for-3 for the Raiders and scored his first run of the season. Nick Degen, Cooper Morrissey, Braxton Small and Andrew Westerman all hit home runs.

Captain Andrew Westerman earned the win as he pitched all six innings and struck out two.

"It feels like we're getting the dust off and getting settled," Westerman said "It sure is fun."

The Raiders will host Dakota on Wednesday where they will honor their three seniors.
