Robert Williams III gets first playoff start in Celtics’ Game 6 win over 76ers

In a massive change before the Boston Celtics took on the Philadelphia 76ers in a win-or-go-home Game 6, the Celtics pulled off a big change in their lineup by bringing back Robert Williams III into the starting five. Last season, Boston thrived off a double big lineup of Williams and Horford.

But with Timelord spending a big chunk of the start of the 2022-23 NBA season recovering after knee surgery, the Celtics had been using Derrick White in his place. With their backs against the wall, Boston head coach Joe Mazzulla made a gutsy call that paid dividends on defense, a move that had Marcus Smart “estatic”.
