Robert Saleh ‘not worried at all’ about Quinnen Williams contract talks

Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams continues to seek a new contract entering the fifth-year option season on his rookie contract and has not been at OTAs. Despite the ongoing talks and other events, such as Williams updating his Twitter bio and profile picture, head coach Robert Saleh isn’t concerned.

“I know they’re about to have a baby, which is awesome,” Saleh said. “Q, good luck brother. I’m not worried at all. That thing will get done and he’ll be here.”

Williams is seeking at least $24 million to $25 million or maybe even more per year on his next contract. Washington’s Daron Payne, New York’s Dexter Lawrence and Tennessee’s Jeffery Simmons all signed new deals this offseason worth between $22.5 million and $23.5 million per year.

It’s still only May, so there is still time for a deal to get done.
