After an MRI confirmed three days ago that Collins has a left ankle Malleolar stress reaction, we learned on Friday that the Trail Blazers will be without their starting power forward for the remainder of the season.
Portland's Zach Collins will require season-ending ankle surgery, sources tell ESPN.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) August 21, 2020

It was good to see Collins back on the court for the first time since late October after suffering a shoulder injury just three games into the 2019-2020 regular season. He averaged 6.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists through eight bubble games.
But the injury bug strikes another big man in Portland.
Unfortunately, Rip City knows this feeling all too well. But the love for Collins and wishing him a healthy and speedy recovery was present on social media.

Prayers up for Zach Collins 🙏🏼 injuries suck— E.the.3 (@Thee_EA) August 21, 2020
I genuinely feel bad for Collins- he worked his ass off to get back from the shoulder ding.— Danny Marang (@DannyMarang) August 21, 2020
Now I'm wondering how serious this surgery is- if it's bc of stress fractures.... that's not a good sign. You just hope it's a simple repair and he can get back.
Get well soon, Zach ❤️🙏— Pau Gasol (@paugasol) August 21, 2020
The Blazers take on the Lakers in game three on Saturday, August 22 at 5:30 PM (PT).
