REVOLVE Responds to Backlash Over Its Fyre Festival-Like Coachella Event

On April 16 and 17, Instagram and TikTok influencers were invited to the exclusive REVOLVE Festival, which was held near Coachella. However, attendees took to social media to expose the brand's poorly planned and organized event.

According to TikToker Averie Bishop's video, she wasn't allowed to enter due to not taking the specific bus provided by REVOLVE, which reportedly did not have enough room. Bishop also claimed that people were stuck outside in the heat, to which Los Angeles Magazine editor Joseph Kapsch confirmed that influencers were "stranded in the dirt with no water, under the hot sun for hours, waiting for buses that aren't coming to bring them to [the] actual festival." Kapsch added that the gathering "[sunk] to level of Fyre Festival."

Following the backlash, Revolve has finally issued a statement to E! News. "As the festival was reaching capacity late Saturday afternoon, shuttle access to the venue was limited in order to remain in compliance with safety requirements causing longer wait times for entry and resulting in some guests not being able to attend the festival," a representative said. "The safety of our guests is of the utmost importance to us and we will always make that a priority," they added. The representative concluded with a formal apology: "We sincerely apologize to all the guests who were impacted. We always strive to provide a great experience and we promise to do better."
