Reports: Pelicans to give Drew 10-day contract


The New Orleans Pelicans plan to sign guard Larry Drew II to a 10-day contract by Thursday, according to multiple reports.

Drew has played in 15 games during his NBA career, including three this season. He's averaged 3.2 points and 3.1 assists.

Drew, 28, signed a 10-day contract with the Philadelphia 76ers in January.

He has spent most of this season with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, where he is averaging 11.7 points, 7.5 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game.

Drew would provide depth for New Orleans following the departure of guard Walter Lemon Jr., whose second 10-day contract expired after Tuesday's win over the Charlotte Hornets.
