Wrestling legend Ric Flair expected to fully recover following hospitalization

Wrestling legend Ric Flair is expected to be OK after he was reportedly hospitalized on Thursday morning.

"Due to ongoing health complications, Ric was taken to the hospital and is expected to undergo a procedure [Friday] morning, after which he expects to fully recover,” Flair’s wife, Wendy Barlow, told TMZ on Thursday afternoon.

According to TMZ, Flair suffered a “medical emergency” in the Atlanta area and was rushed to the emergency room. The report initially described the situation as “very serious.”

However, Conrad Thompson, Flair’s son-in-law and good friend, was quick to clarify that situation is “not as grave or serious” as TMZ first reported.

Flair dealt with a serious medical scare back in 2017. The WWE Hall of Famer was hospitalized with multiple organ failures and was placed into a medically induced coma for 11 days.

After having successful surgery and going through rehab, Flair recovered and returned to the public eye. He married Barlow in 2018 and celebrated his 70th birthday in February.

Flair’s life — and all of its ups and downs — was the subject of an ESPN 30 for 30 documentary called “Nature Boy.”
