Report: Washington's Jay Gruden may be coaching for his job on Sunday vs. Giants
Washington is 0-3 after a Monday night home loss to the Chicago Bears.
And while coach Jay Gruden has expressed optimism that being 0-3 isn’t the end of the world, a fourth loss could spell the end of his job.

The Washington Post’s Les Carpenter reported on Friday that Gruden may be in trouble.
Citing two sources, Carpenter wrote that Gruden could be fired if Washington doesn’t beat the New York Giants on the road on Sunday.
Gruden came into this season on the hot seat in the minds of many. Washington has allowed 32, 31, and 31 points in its three games, and the rank near the bottom of the league in several other statistical categories. Things aren’t much better offensively, though Washington is averaging 21 points per game.
This is Gruden’s sixth season as head coach; he has only one winning season, 2015, when the team was 9-7 and made its only playoff appearance of his tenure.
Could Haskins decision play a role?
Thus far, Gruden has resisted playing rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins, instead going with Case Keenum, who had five turnovers on Monday night against Chicago.
Haskins said on Thursday that he’s happy for the other members of the 2019 draft class who have been starting - the Giants’ Daniel Jones, Arizona’s Kyler Murray and Jacksonville’s Gardner Minshew - but reasoned that neither Tom Brady nor Aaron Rodgers started as rookies.
“I know I can play well and play at a high level,” Haskins said. “But I want to keep getting better. I feel I can be really, really good. I want to be a great quarterback, one of those guys you talk about for years to come. That's not going to happen overnight.”
There have long been rumblings that team owner Daniel Snyder was a big fan of Haskins during the draft, but that the coaching staff may not have been on board.
