Report: Titans pass rusher Harold Landry tears ACL in practice

The Tennessee Titans lost a major part of their defense after pass rusher Harold Landry reportedly tore his ACL during Wednesday's practice, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Landry, 26, signed a four-year, $87.5 million extension with the Titans this past March following his first career Pro Bowl appearance. The 2018 second-round pick finished with a career-high 12 sacks in 2021, which ranked 10th in the league. Landry also registered 75 combined tackles, 14 tackles for a loss and 22 quarterback hits this past season.

For all intents and purposes, this will likely knock Landry out for the season. He, fellow pass rusher Bud Dupree and defensive linemen Jeffery Simmons and Denico Autry were poised to return in a fearsome Titans' front seven that ranked 12th in DVOA this past season, per Football Outsiders. The Titans' trio of Landry, Simmons and Autry made Tennessee the only team in the league with three players who tallied at least eight sacks.

Now, sadly, Landry won't be there as the Titans try to win the AFC South for the third consecutive season.
