The Minnesota Timberwolves shocked the basketball world a bit on Wednesday when they fired GM Gerson Rosas and it even shocked star player Karl-Anthony Towns. It seemed like a move that was straight out of left field.

While Minnesota has named former Philadelphia 76ers executive Sanchin Gupta as the interim GM to replace Rosas, they do have their eyes on another current Sixers executive.

Elton Brand, who is still technically the general manager of the Sixers, has hopped on the radar of Timberwolves owners Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore in some type of capacity. They are both very fond of the former NBA All-Star big man.

Brand has been the general manager of the Sixers for three seasons now, but he has seemingly taken a step back to president Daryl Morey in terms of basketball decision-making in Philadelphia. The Timberwolves could offer a new opportunity for him in his front-office career.
