Report: Panthers to interview Colts assistant GM Ed Dodds on Sunday

The Carolina Panthers won’t be tuned all the way in to Sunday’s Wild Card Round action.

According to ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter, things will be a bit busy—as they’ll be interviewing Ed Dodds for their general manager job. Dodds, one of Carolina’s 11 known candidates, is currently the assistant general manager for the Indianapolis Colts.

The Panthers announced that they had requested to speak with Chris Ballard’s right-hand man this past Monday. That official release also included the names of New York’s Brandon Brown, Tampa Bay’s Mike Greenberg, Kansas City’s Brandt Tilis, Philadephia’s Alec Halaby, New Orleans’ Khai Harley, Baltimore’s Nick Matteo and Las Vegas’ Champ Kelly.

This will be Dodds’ second shot to lead Carolina’s front office. His first interview with the Panthers came in 2021, when the organization ultimately landed on Scott Fitterer.

In addition to Dodds and his aforementioned company, the Panthers have also expressed interest in their own assistant general manager Dan Morgan, their vice president of football administration Samir Suleiman and Detroit Lions chief operating officer Mike Disner.
