Recent reports of the Brooklyn Nets having "internally discussed" acquiring Bradley Beal have captured the ears of national media and fans. But not so fast, Beal's agent quickly spoke out against that possibility in an interview with Forbes.
"There are no Beal sweepstakes and that's why he signed with the Wizards," agent Mark Bartelstein told Adam Zagoria.
"Brad re-signed with the Wizards because he wanted to stay in Washington and the Wizards want to keep him there."
Fortunately, Beal is used to the buzz surrounding his name. It comes with the territory, he's one of the best players in the league.
"It's interesting," Beal said in regards to trade rumors back in December. "I embrace it in a way because it's a sign people want me and you're good in a way. I regard it as high respect and I am appreciative of it. But I don't give it all my energy and I don't let it concern me."
At this point it seems as though Beal and Bartelstein are running out of ways to state that the two-time All-Star is staying in the nation's capital. That's the price you pay when you're a star in the association.
