Report: Mac McClung signs one-year contract with Warriors

One day after reportedly welcoming JaMychal Green to the team, the Golden State Warriors made another addition to their roster during the 2022 offseason.

Following an impressive run through the Las Vegas Summer League, Mac McClung will get the opportunity to fight for one of the final spots on the Warriors’ roster during training camp. According to Shams Charania, McClung has agreed to a one-year deal with the Warriors.

During the Las Vegas Summer League, McClung averaged 13.4 points on 45.6% shooting from the field and 50% from beyond the arc, with 4.8 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game.

Although his deal is reportedly non-guaranteed, McClung will have the chance to battle for one of Golden State’s final roster spots in training camp.

During last season’s training camp, Gary Payton II and veteran Avery Bradley were in a competition for a spot on the Warriors’ roster. After Payton II earned a place in the rotation, he blossomed into a significant role with the Warriors on their run to the 2022 NBA Finals.

Prior to joining the Warriors, McClung spent the 2021-22 season with the South Bay Lakers after going undrafted out of Texas Tech in the NBA draft. McClung was named G League Rookie of the Year during his time with the South Bay Lakers. McClung has also played one game with the Los Angeles Lakers and one game with the Chicago Bulls.
