REPORT: Jon Embree could make his way back to Colorado… with the Broncos

By now, the coaching carousel in both the NFL and college football realms has subsided in a big way.

However, as NFL teams name new head coaches, staffs seem to change quite often. The Denver Broncos are one team that is undergoing a massive coaching change after naming Nathaniel Hackett head coach.

Hackett and the Broncos could now add Jon Embree, a former Colorado Buffaloes star and head coach, to their staff as a tight ends coach. The Broncos are reportedly planning on interviewing Embree this week, per Mike Klis of 9News. It could be a good fit as the West Coast offense Hackett is bringing to Denver is exactly what Embree lives and breathes.

After a rough two-year head coaching stint with the Buffaloes, Embree has spent a lot of time around the league, and he could be headed back to the state of Colorado.

Since 2017, Embree has been a tight ends coach with the San Francisco 49ers, but when he was reportedly asked to take a massive pay cut, Embree and the Niners parted ways.

If Embree ends up in Denver, he will have the opportunity to work with Noah Fant, a young, up-and-coming tight end for the Broncos. After all, it could get even better if a certain someone from Wisconsin heads to play for Denver next season.

This would be a splashy hire for Hackett, who is beginning his first year as a head coach in the NFL.
