Report: Jets interest in Odell Beckham ‘very real’

The Jets have added two new wide receivers — Allen Lazard and Mecole Hardman — to the group during this free agency period and they may not be done adding.

Per a report from SNY’s Connor Hughes, the Jets’ interest in Odell Beckham is “very real” and that “he and Aaron Rodgers are close and have discussed playing together in New York.”

The Jets have been keeping an eye on Beckham for a little while now and while nothing is imminent, Rodgers “has a desire to play with (Beckham),” per Hughes.

Beckham has not played since injuring his ACL during Super Bowl LVI with the Los Angeles Rams. There was some potential that he would return late last season, perhaps with either the New York Giants or Dallas Cowboys but nothing ever came to fruition.

Adding Beckham would give the Jets a wide receiver group of Beckham, Lazard, Hardman and the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson. There wouldn’t be pressure on Beckham but there would be a ton of potential.
