Report: Indiana Pacers name Nate Bjorkgren new head coach originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

The Indiana Pacers ended their head coaching search Tuesday afternoon with the hire of Toronto Raptors assistant, Nate Bjorkgren, according to The Athletic's Sham Charania.

Prior to joining Nick Nurse’s NBA Championship coaching staff back in 2019, Bjorkgren assisted Nurse with the G-League's Iowa Energy for four years, where the two captured a title together in the 2011 season.

Bjorkgren coached the Dakota Wizards - who later became the Santa Cruz Warriors - the Iowa Energy and Bakersfield Jam from 2011 to 2015. He compiled a 126-74 record in the G League as head coach for the Warriors/Wizards (61-39), Energy (31-19) and Jam (31-19), with two of his teams finishing in the top-ten of offensive and defensive rating.

The Pacers moved on from former head coach Nate McMillan after four seasons at the helm back in August.

The Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans, and Oklahoma City Thunder are now the three NBA teams remaining without a head coach.
