Report: Heat F Richardson hurts shoulder vs. Sixers

Amid conflicting reports over the severity of an injured left shoulder suffered in a Game 4 loss to the 76ers on Saturday, Miami Heat small forward Josh Richardson expects to play in Game 5 on Tuesday in Philadelphia.

Richardson was banged up after a second-quarter collision with Sixers center Joel Embiid with both players and others scrapping for a loose ball in a heated sequence. Yahoo Sports reported after the game that the 24-year-old Richardson had suffered a sprained AC joint.

The team announced Richardson's injury as a shoulder contusion and made no mention of a sprained AC joint.

The 6-foot-6 Richardson returned to the game, contributing 10 points, seven assists, five rebounds and a game-high seven steals in Miami's 106-102 loss. The Heat trail their first-round series with the 76ers three games to one.

The three-year NBA veteran averaged 12.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game in over 33 minutes each contest for the Heat in the regular season.
