Report: Giants fire offensive coordinator Jason Garrett

·1 min read

In news that was widely expected and perhaps too late to come about, the New York Giants have decided to fire offensive coordinator Jason Garrett.

Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News was the first to report the story.

The decision to move on from Garrett comes following a 30-10 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night and growing frustrations in the locker room. Head coach Joe Judge had acknowledged as much following the Week 11 game.

“We’ve got to put our players in better position to make plays,” Judge said. “I told the players to show up Wednesday ready to go. . . We’ll have a plan for them.”

That plan isn’t just a new play caller, but a new offensive coordinator.

In a move those of us at Giants Wire suggested over a month ago, Freddie Kitchens, the team’s senior offensive assistant, will move into the role vacated by Garrett.

More to come…
