Report: Isaiah Thomas signs 10-day contract with Pelicans originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Isaiah Thomas is back in the NBA.

The 32-year-old point guard, who last played in the NBA for the Washington Wizards last season, has signed a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Thomas will be able to make his debut with New Orleans on Sunday, per the report.

The two-time All-Star has been out of the NBA since he was waived by the Los Angeles Clippers in 2020 following a deadline-day trade from Washington. Thomas played 40 games for Washington in 2019-20, averaging 12.2 points, 1.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.

While a free agent, Thomas -- alongside former NBA player Joe Johnson -- has been suiting up for Team USA Basketball. Thomas was part of a 14-man roster that competed in the 2022 FIBA AmeriCup Qualifiers this past February.

For his career, Thomas has appeared in 525 NBA games, averaging 18.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per contest.
