Report: Eagles, Saquon Barkley share ‘mutual interest’ as free agency looms

The New York Giants opted against placing the franchise tag on running back Saquon Barkley for the second straight season, setting him up to test free agency for the first time in his career.

It’s a decision that could backfire on the Giants and general manager Joe Schoen, especially if he remains within the division.

Those fears could quickly become reality as the Eagles are reportedly interested in signing Barkley when free agency begins next week, and the interest is apparently mutual.
