Report: Haskins only started because he was Dan Snyder's 'favorite' originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
The Washington Football Team started Dwayne Haskins at quarterback the first four games of the season because that was the preference of team owner Dan Snyder, per a new CBS report.
From Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports:
Washington drafted Haskins 15th overall last year and it's been widely reported that the pick only happened because Snyder wanted the former Ohio State star. Washington's football executives did not want Haskins, and when Ron Rivera took over this year, the veteran coach hardly spoke highly of Haskins.
Eventually, that changed and Haskins was named the starter, but Rivera sent him to the bench after four weeks.
