Report: Cowboys owner Jerry Jones involved in accident, transported to hospital

According to a report from local Dallas station WFAA, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, 79, has been involved in a car accident on Wednesday night. Their sources report that he suffered injuries for which he was transported to a local area hospital. The injuries are reportedly not considered to be serious.

The accident occurred in the area of Wolf and Harry Hines Boulevard in Dallas.

More information to come as it becomes available.

Jones has owned the Cowboys since 1989 and has served as the club’s general manager since purchasing the team. Normally front and center at every opportunity, Jones recently missed the NFL scouting combine after undergoing an unspecified medical procedure. Jones was on hand for the 2022 NFL draft weekend and seemed his usual engaging self, joking with the media in the week leading up to the event and being available for all of the draft pressers.

That included Thursday night after selecting OL Tyler Smith where Jones held up the club’s draft board to prove to the media in attendance that Smith was rated higher than prospects who were drafted before him. That draft board has been cracked, much like ones from previous draft classes.
