The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reports that the Brewers are expected to sign pitcher Shelby Miller to a minor league contract.

Miller, 28, was released by the Rangers earlier this month after allowing 46 runs (42 earned) on 58 hits and 29 walks with 30 strikeouts across 44 innings of work. Miller made eight starts and 11 relief appearances.

Prior to 2019, Miller spent three injury-plagued and unproductive seasons with the Diamondbacks, where he posted an aggregate 6.35 ERA in 139 innings. The Brewers are hoping Miller can rebound, but the odds seem long.
