Report: Boston Celtics one of ‘around a dozen suitors’ trying to deal for Detroit’s Jerami Grant

The Boston Celtics have reportedly been among the busiest teams in the league heading into the heart of the 2022 NBA trade deadline, and are evidently among a number of teams chasing after a particular member of the Detroit Pistons’ roster according to new reporting from Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer.

Reprising a pursuit they had previously engaged in the midst of the 2020-21 season, Fischer relates that the Celtics have “signaled interest in the 27-year-old,” along with the Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trail Blazers, New York Knicks, Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards, Indiana Pacers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Sacramento Kings.

Described as “the grand prize of this deadline” by an anonymous team strategist in the B/R article, it seems the ask will be a steep one for Boston given all the interest.

While it seems more likely that the Celtics will make smaller moves around the margins, it is always possible that the Pistons front office could prefer what Boston might be willing to part with.

Monitor this situation with both a grain of salt and the knowledge that it isn’t beyond the realm of possible outcomes even if it is an unlikely one.
