The Boston Celtics have taken a commanding 2-0 lead in their first round series with the Brooklyn Nets, and the Nets are facing a de facto must-win scenario on Saturday in Game 3.

Reinforcements for the Nets are on the way – but will it be too late for Brooklyn to save its season? According to a report from Shams Charania, Ben Simmons plans to play Game 4 on Monday, assuming his “rehab remains on course.” It would be Simmons’ first appearance in a game since June 20th, 2021, when the Sixers fell to the Hawks in Game 7.

It’s unclear exactly how much Simmons will be able to play when he does return, as Nets coach Steve Nash hasn’t given any indication of the team’s plans for Simmons.
