Report: Agent Drew Rosenhaus 'conditionally' terminates relationship with Antonio Brown

Agent Drew Rosenhaus has conditionally terminated his relationship with Antonio Brown.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Rosenhaus wrote a letter to the NFL Players Association saying that he would like to continue working with Brown, but not until he gets professional help. ProFootballTalk wrote that Rosenhaus will rescind the termination if Brown secures counseling within the next five days.

PFT, citing a source, further wrote that the goal is to persuade Brown to get the help he needs.

It’s a big sign that there might be far more than out-of-control ego hindering Brown; Rosenhaus has long been his most vocal advocate, defending Brown at every turn, and against pretty much every allegation, including the lawsuit filed in September alleging that the receiver had forcibly raped a former trainer.

Brown has also taken public shots at Rosenhaus in recent months, including in December, when a picture of Rosenhaus’ face was included in a social media post where he depicts the longtime agent and NFLPA chief DeMaurice Smith watching as Brown is “attacked” by a sword-wielding figure representing the media.

As of this writing, the volatile Brown hasn’t publicly reacted to the news, though earlier Thursday he posted a picture to his Instagram stories of a newspaper, with two headlines about the free-agent receiver’s five-year contract extension in 2017.

Earlier this week, Brown live-streamed an incident between himself, the mother of three of his children, Chelsie Kyriss, and police in Hollywood, Florida. It is a near-constant stream of obscenities directed toward Kyriss and the officers, with his two young sons witnessing the entire thing.

It was scary, most of all for the children. Hollywood Police felt the verbal abuse was the final straw, and announced on Tuesday that it was severing ties with Brown, who has donated money to the department’s youth athletic league.
