Replay review overturns Texas A&M touchdown against Colorado

A replay review has turned what was called a Texas A&M touchdown into a fumble recovery by Colorado in the fourth quarter Saturday in Denver.

The Aggies could not get any offense going and finally appeared to have something to celebrate when Zach Calzada headed toward the goal line, apparently giving Texas A&M a 9-7 lead pending the PAT.

However, the replay booth buzzed down, and wanted to take another look.

The FOX broadcast booth and rules analyst Mike Pereira were quick to say the ball appeared out of Calzada’s control before the quarterback reached the goal line.

The replay booth concurred. The ball was recovered in the end zone by the Buffaloes.

Adding to the woes of Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies was a dead-ball penalty for grabbing the facemask. Instead of having a lead, Texas A&M saw the ball given to Colorado at the 35-yard line after the 15 yards were assessed.

The Aggies managed a touchdown on their next drive and held on for a 10-7 victory in the defensive struggle.
