The Boston Celtics have had their share of legends over the years.

From Red Auerbach to Bill Russell, John Havlicek to Larry Bird, some of the NBA's best coaches and players have contributed to the C's 17 championships -- and a host of them have their jersey numbers retired in the Garden rafters.

But arguably no one embodied the Celtics franchise more than Tommy Heinsohn, who was associated with the team for over six decades until his death Monday at the age of 86.

Heinsohn earned induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as both a player and a coach, winning 10 championships along the way. He also broadcast games on both radio in the 1960s and television for almost 40 years.

From his beginnings as a college star at Holy Cross, and continuing through his legendary career, we look back at Heinsohn's immeasurable legacy with pictures of him through the years.
