Redskins-Cowboys Live Updates: Week 2 score, highlights, stats, analysis

Week 2 of the 2019 NFL regular season is here, which means it's time for another edition of Redskins vs. Cowboys.

FedEx Field plays host to the first meeting of the season between the bitter NFC East rivals, and although it's still early, it's incredibly important.

The Redskins enter the rivalry game 0-1 following a 32-27 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1. The Cowboys enter 1-0 having beaten the New York Giants 35-17 in Week 1. With two NFC East games in the first two weeks, no team can afford to start 0-2. A loss against the Cowboys today will do just that for the Redskins.

To make matters worse, Washington will be without cornerback Quinton Dunbar, who was a late scratch. That will mean a lot of Josh Norman, which could be a good thing or a bad thing. Norman was on the wrong end of two big touchdowns to DeSean Jackson in Week 1. Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, Randall Cobb and Jason Witten will look to feast on Norman and the rest of a banged-up secondary.

The Week 2 game between the Redskins and Cowboys is set to kick off at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.

But the action begins at Noon with Redskins Kickoff Live on NBC Sports Washington and the MyTeams App. (Channel Finder)

WEEK 2: REDSKINS vs. COWBOYS LIVE UPDATES:

3:35 PM: And there go the fans. Yikes.

3:30 PM: The Cowboys find the end zone again thanks to a two-yard Ezekiel Elliott run. It capped a 10-play, 54-yard drive. It was the shortest scoring dive the Cowboys have had all game. 31-14 with five minutes to go.

3:19 PM: A huge missed opportunity for the Redskins. Keenum, facing pressure, checked down to a quick slant, but didn't even see Paul Richardson get behind the entire secondary. If Keenum throws it at least 25 yards, it's a touchdown.

3:00 PM: The Redskins respond with an impressive drive that ends with a 9-yard touchdown pass from Keenum to Richardson.  11 plays, 75 yards and 5:28 off the clock. Of note: Morgan Moses limped off the field. That is something to monitor.

2:50 PM: If you're wondering where Montae Nicholson was on that TD play, he's now questionable for return with a foot injury. Ugh.

2:45 PM: Prescott to Amari Cooper touchdown caps another long drive for the Cowboys. The Redskins have given up 21 unanswered points, a concerning trend we saw in Week 1.

2:22 PM: With time running down in the first half, Prescott finds Jason Witten in the end zone for a goalline touchdown. The Cowboys will enter the locker room with a 14-7 lead and will start the second half with the ball.

2:15 PM: Prescott fakes a handoff and scampers up the field for a huge, 45-yard run, dragging Josh Norman for the final few yards. This has been a horrible start for the high-profile cornerback.

2:10 PM: The Redskins give the ball back after an offensive series that went nowhere. The Cowboys are going right at Josh Norman. Prescott launches a pass to Michael Gallup, who turns Norman around twice, but is unable to haul it in. That could have been backbreaking.

2:03 PM: The Cowboys catch the Redskins sleeping with a play-action pass from Prescott to Devin Smith for a 52-yard touchdown. It's Smith's first catch since the 2016 season. Josh Norman was on the coverage, and for the second straight week, got burned on the route. But to be fair, Norman was expecting help over the top and it never arrived.

1:40 PM: Adrian Peterson finds the end zone on a goal-line run out of the I-formation. With the score, Peterson takes sole possession of fifth place, above Jim Brown, on the all-time rushing touchdowns list. Many people may not want to hear it, but Jay Gruden is calling a great game thus far.

1:35 PM: The Redskins are going with a healthy dose of .... Steven Sims jet sweeps. The undrafted free agent out of Kansas has been used in a few gadget sets, all going for positive yards. There's a reason he was so highly regarded in training camp.

1:25 PM: INTERCEPTION! Daron Payne gets to Dak Prescott, who just gets the pass of in time but throws it well behind Randall Cobb. The pass is deflected and Montae Nicholson is there to catch the ball and picks up 22 yards on the return. That's the Redskins' first forced turnover of the season.

1:20 PM: The Redskins and Cowboys trade possessions without doing much in the way of offense. The Redskins' second possession ends the same way as their first, with a Tress Way punt. He puts the ball inside the 20-yard-line, which is what Tress Way does. He's now the Redskins franchise leader in punts inside the 20 with 135.

1:04 PM: It's time for kickoff. The Redskins are in burgundy pants with white jerseys. The Cowboys are in silver pants and navy blue jerseys. The Redskins will get the football first. Let's football.

12:45 PM: As we all expected, there are a lot of Cowboys fans at FedEx Field. We sent Pete Hailey out into the parking lot to test them on being a Cowboys fan.

12:30 PM: Josh Norman is hyped and ready for Week 2. He will need to be ready, because Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and Randall Cobb are expecting to do big things against a Redskins' secondary that struggled to keep up with the Eagles in the second half of Week 1.

12:10 PM: The inactive list is out for today's game. Quinton Dunbar is a late scratch. Read more about it here.

12:00 PM: Hi folks, and welcome to NBC Sports Washington's live blog of Redskins vs. Cowboys in Week 2 of the 2019 NFL season. Our JP FinlayPete Hailey and Ethan Cadeaux are on-site at FedEx Field. If you don't already follow them, do so now.
