Red Sox-Yankees highlights: Perez deals, but Sox fall in extras originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston
Martin Perez was brilliant as the starter for Boston. The left-hander tossed six shutout innings allowing only three hits and striking out seven.
Christian Arroyo did most of the damage offensively for Boston, crushing a three-run homer in the fourth inning. The Yankees notched six runs against the Red Sox bullpen, however, including a game-tying Gery Sanchez homer in the ninth and a game-winning hit from D.J. LeMahieu in the 12th.
FINAL SCORE: Yankees 6, Red Sox 5
Red Sox Record: 19-33
