The Boston Red Sox announced Monday they will not tender contracts for 2020 to infielder Marco Hernandez or left-handed pitcher Josh Osich, meaning both players will become free agents.

Hernandez joined the Red Sox in 2014 and made his debut with the team in 2016. The 27-year-old missed almost all of the 2017 and 2018 seasons recovering from left shoulder surgery, then rejoined the club for 61 games in 2019 hitting .250 (37-for-148) with two home runs and 11 RBI.

Osich never appeared in a game for the Red Sox as he was claimed off waivers from the White Sox on Oct. 31, 2019. In 57 games with Chicago, the 31-year-old southpaw pitched 67 2/3 innings while posting a 4.66 ERA and 1.14 WHIP.

Boston tendered contracts to its remaining 27 unsigned players on the major league roster, including center fielder Jackie Bradley Jr.
