Red Sox non-tender deadline: Barnes, Plawecki, Brasier to return originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston

The non-tender deadline has come and gone, and the Boston Red Sox have made some important decisions ahead of the 2021 season.

Boston had seven arbitration-eligible players this offseason: Pitchers Eduardo Rodriguez, Matt Barnes, Ryan Brasier, Austin Brice, and Ryan Weber, catcher Kevin Plawecki, and third baseman Rafael Devers. None were non-tendered.

Rodriguez and the Red Sox avoided arbitration with an $8.3 million contract for 2021, USA TODAY's Bob Nightengale reported Tuesday.

Barnes settled on a $4.5 million contract for 2021, according to Alex Speier of The Boston Globe.

MLB Network's Jon Heyman reports Plawecki settled at $1.6 million, and Brasier at $1.25 million.

Brice signed an $870,000 contract on Wednesday, per Nightengale.

Devers predictably was tendered an offer, though the two sides haven't yet come to terms on a deal. Either way, the star third baseman will not become a free agent.

Weber was designated for assignment and outrighted.
