Red River's Pearce Parks, Sacred Heart's Josiah Sundby hit career points milestones

Feb. 23—GRAND FORKS — A Grand Forks Red River junior and an East Grand Forks Sacred Heart senior recently passed 1,000 career points in boys basketball.

Pearce Parks of Red River and Josiah Sundby of Sacred Heart become the ninth member of each school's 1,000 career points list.

As of Feb. 21, Sundby, who has led the Eagles to back-to-back Minnesota Section 8A championships, has 1,014 points, 600 assists, 445 rebounds and 352 steals.

Parks, who started on Red River's state runner-up team in 2023 as a sophomore, is averaging 23.8 points per game this season.

At Sacred Heart, Kobe Tomkinson is the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,564 points from 2018-2022.

Brenden Bethke, Jordan Tomkinson, Sam Gapp, Alex Kuznia, Jack Gerber, Ethan Arntson and Tom Fontaine are the other members of Sacred Heart's 1,000 points club.

At Red River, the 1,000-point scorers include Reed Monson, Luke Schreiner, Mac Kroeplin, Craig Larson, Dave Levos, Mack Arvidson, Zach Kraft, Reis Rowekamp and Parks.

Monson is Red River's all-time leading scorer at 1,560 points. Schreiner had 1,501.

With Parks scoring 475 points so far this season, he could challenge the school record next season.
