Tuesday marked the final day that draft prospects from the 2022 NBA draft met with national media before Thursday.

Players who spoke included G League Ignites Dyson Daniels and Jaden Hardy, Kansas wing Ochai Agbaji, Baylor forward Jeremy Sochan and Notre Dame guard Blake Wesley.

Let’s take a look at what each of them said about the Oklahoma City Thunder as they prepare for their names to be called on Thursday night by one of the 30 NBA teams.

Daniels said he did not work out for the Thunder or meet with the team. Daniels did say that he has a nearly-10-year-long relationship with Thunder guard Josh Giddey and has spoken to him throughout the draft process for advice.

“I was with the (NBA) Academy with him. He’s a great guy. He’s one of my good friends,” said Daniels. “We’re both really good playmakers, off the bounce, make passes finish around the rim, stuff like that.”

Agbaji talked in detail about his workout with the Thunder and who he met. Agbaji mentioned that he had lunch with the coaching staff and other prospects but not with general manager Sam Presti.

“I got to meet everyone around the facility. The workout — like I said — was solid. There’s a good group of guys there too. Oklahoma City really made me feel in a home environment. Went out to lunch with a couple of guys and really got to see how they run their everyday day-to-day process and all that. Got to watch some of their current players worked out for a little bit before we worked out, so it was cool seeing those guys and their transition and what they’re doing now in offseason.”

Hardy confirmed that he worked out for the Thunder and spoke a bit about his visit with the team.

“I feel like the OKC workout went great,” said Hardy. “I met with the GM and the head coach was there too.”

Other teams Hardy worked out for include the Philadelphia 76ers, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers and Charlotte Hornets.

Sochan spoke about how his favorite team growing up was the Thunder as his first NBA game featured them in Manchester.

Sochan said the teams he’s worked out for are the Thunder, San Antonio Spurs, New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings, Cleveland Cavaliers, Washington Wizards and had a Zoom call with the Indiana Pacers due to missing a workout with them.

Wesley revealed that he has met with the Thunder via a Zoom call but never officially worked out for them.

“I did have some contact with OKC Thunder. I had a Zoom with them three days ago, or a couple days ago, after my Miami Heat workout. They want to get to know me because I didn’t get to go there for a workout. But at first — I don’t know why — but they didn’t schedule me for a workout there, which is fine. Then after a couple of workouts passed, they asked me for a Zoom.”

When asked about potentially being drafted by the Thunder, Wesley sounded very excited on the possibility as he mentioned Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey.

To fit in there will be good. Playing with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will be good. That’s who I model my game as so to be able to play with him, Josh Giddey will be good for me and I like the OKC Thunder. Young team but they like to develop their guards. So if they pick me, I would love to go there.”
