Reactions: Michael Lorenzen departs after seven seasons with Cincinnati Reds
Michael Lorenzen, who pitched for the Cincinnati Reds for the first seven seasons of his Major League Baseball career after the Reds selected him in the first round of the 2013 draft, left via free agency for the Los Angeles Angels, agreeing to a one-year deal worth $6.75 million.
The Reds shared a tribute via Twitter on Tuesday:

Lorenzen is expected to start for the Angels. He started 21 of the 27 games in which he appeared during his rookie season of 2015, but he made just five total starts over the six seasons that followed.
Lorenzen posted a 5.59 ERA in 27 appearances during an injury-plagued 2021 season. His ERA in 295 appearances over seven seasons in Cincinnati was 4.07.
Lorenzen hit .233 in 147 plate appearances with seven home runs over seven seasons. He hit four of his seven homers - including a pinch-hit grand slam against the Milwaukee Brewers - in 34 PAs in 2018.

In addition, MLB Network's Jon Morosi reported Sunday via Twitter that the Angels and Reds have had preliminary trade talks about Cincinnati starter Luis Castillo.
