Video Transcript

AHMED FAREED: Atlanta Falcons, eight overall.

CHRIS SIMMS: The Eagles just traded up to nine with the Bears.

AHMED FAREED: OK, Chris is now eating chicken tenders--

CHRIS SIMMS: You're right.

AHMED FAREED: --and some fries.

CHRIS SIMMS: Right.

AHMED FAREED: You may notice that--

CHRIS SIMMS: Right.

AHMED FAREED: --if you're listening to the pod or watching it.

CHRIS SIMMS: You're welcome. It's pick eight. Jalen Carter is on the board. Warren Sapp is-- this is Warren Sapp. We compared him, right, in the podcast. He's the best player in the draft. Nobody disagrees with that. Nobody. It's unanimous. And he's still here at eight, so everybody's worried about his off-the-field stuff, right?

AHMED FAREED: And by the way, no homie. Your $1,000 is safe, Chris.

CHRIS SIMMS: Damn.

AHMED FAREED: No homie picked the top 10.

CHRIS SIMMS: I know my homies. They ain't that smart to pick the top 10.

AHMED FAREED: We had [INAUDIBLE]

- [INAUDIBLE]

AHMED FAREED: [INAUDIBLE] Oh, [INAUDIBLE] I was way off. [INAUDIBLE] Riley--

CHRIS SIMMS: Right.

AHMED FAREED: --got five.

CHRIS SIMMS: Five.

AHMED FAREED: Yeah, hit five.

CHRIS SIMMS: Five is impressive.

AHMED FAREED: So he'll get $500.

CHRIS SIMMS: I think that's a fair thing. $500 is coming to you.

AHMED FAREED: The Falcons select Bijan Robinson, running back from Texas.

CHRIS SIMMS: This is where I love the pick. They need to win right now. Arthur Smith, right, they've had two years where they've exceeded expectations. And the guy that can change your team this moment right now is Bijan Robinson, right? They have one of the best offensive lines in football. You know I think Lindstrom is the best guard in football, right? The tackles are good.

They want to play that style of football, Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans, right? That's where Arthur Smith came from. So that's where it's awesome. And then it helps out Desmond Ridder going to be your quarterback.

OK, well, we got him. We can run the ball. I can run a little bit if I'm Desmond Ridder, right? And now I got Pitts and Drake London to throw to on the outside. I think it fits very much the mantra of their football team.

AHMED FAREED: Throw to Bijan Robinson, too, out of the backfield.

CHRIS SIMMS: Like 100%. He's a dual-threat guy, who can do-- he can do whatever you want. There's no system that he doesn't fit, and he was definitely one of the five best players in the draft.

AHMED FAREED: Probably end up looking a lot like they did last year. Because they had games, I think, where Marcus Mariota would throw it just a handful of times, 10, 12 times.

CHRIS SIMMS: You're right.

AHMED FAREED: They could do that again.

CHRIS SIMMS: They definitely could with him. And then you pipe in Allgeier at certain times to pound on defenses. They're playing big boy football. They're going back to like when we grew up, like '80s, early '90s. We're just going to beat you up and come right downhill and run smash-mouth football.

AHMED FAREED: Big neck rolls--

CHRIS SIMMS: Exactly.

AHMED FAREED: --is back.

CHRIS SIMMS: Big shoulder pads.
