Ravens QB Lamar Jackson noncommittal on playing during remainder of 2022 preseason
The Baltimore Ravens began their 2022 preseason by defeating the Tennessee Titans at M&T Bank Stadium on Thursday by the score of 23-10. Preseason gives rookies and players on the roster bubble an opportunity to show why they should be on the field during the regular season, while starters often get plenty of rest.
Following training camp practice on Saturday, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson spoke to the media. When asked if he is content with not playing in the preseason, the quarterback was unsure, saying he’s not sure if he’ll play or not over the final two weeks of the exhibition period.

“I don’t know. I don’t know. I might give it a shot. I don’t know yet. I don’t know yet.”
Jackson not playing in the preseason wouldn’t be a bad thing for Baltimore. He has shown growth over his four seasons in the NFL and doesn’t need to prove himself to the coaching staff, who have plenty of confidence in the former league-MVP. Jackson is also coming off an injury that forced him to miss the final few games of the regular season in 2021, so the team may want him to rest until meaningful football resumes.
