Ravens QB Lamar Jackson details how Baltimore’s pass offense can take next step
The Baltimore Ravens saw their offense struggle immensely over the second half of the 2021 season. The unit lost many key contributors, including quarterback Lamar Jackson, who suffered an ankle injury early in Week 14 against the Cleveland Browns and didn’t play again over the course of the year.
When Jackson was asked about what the Baltimore passing offense needs to be so that the team can take the next step and win a Super Bowl, the fourth-year signal caller talked about consistency, saying that if they can be more consistent they will “be shooting for the stars”.
“Be consistent. Be consistent. I feel like we have our moments where you could see splashes with the passing offense, and then there are moments where you don’t see anything at all. It’s like, we were just throwing the ball out [of] the park this last week, but now it just stopped. We’ve just got to be more consistent, and with what we’re doing in the pass game, I feel, we’ll be shooting for the stars.”
The Ravens had a middling pass offense in 2021, finishing 13th in passing yards (3,961) and 19th in net yards per pass attempt (5.9). They showed flashes during the season, but couldn’t string together many solid performances overall. If everyone comes back healthy and are able to use the 2022 offseason to work on their games, Baltimore could throw the ball much more consistently in the future.
