Ravens HC John Harbaugh gives updates on RBs J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards

The Baltimore Ravens went undefeated in the 2022 preseason, extending their winning streak in exhibition matches to 23-straight games. Baltimore will look to get off to a strong start in Week 1 against the New York Jets, and should figure to rely on the running game in a big way.

Baltimore lost their two best running backs before the start of the 2021 season in J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh gave updates on both Edwards and Dobbins, but also expressed confidence in the team’s other options.

“Well, Gus [Edwards] won’t be ready; he’s out until Week 4. He won’t be ready before Week 4 because of his [PUP] designation. And J.K. [Dobbins], if J.K. can go out right now, that would be great. I would be excited. He had a good practice today. If not, we have the guys that will play. So, we’re good either way.”

Having  Dobbins back in the lineup for the Ravens would be a great thing to see, but it’s also great to hear that the team isn’t rushing anyone back.  The front office make moves this offseason to bring in depth at the running back position so Edwards and Dobbins could get back on their own and when they feel ready to make an impact on the offense again.
